History

In 1942, Texas trucking pioneer Cy Weller began establishing truckload carriers in Texas. In 1948, interest in hauling refrigerated merchandise became strong and Mr. Weller added refrigerated trucking to his businesses. He soon discovered the importance of transport refrigeration repair expertise.  Being a great businessman, he began looking for this skill.  He needed to keep his trucking services dependable.  Mr. Weller hired Walter Brooks, the most renowned transport refrigeration specialist of his day.

In 1952, Mr. Weller and Mr. Brooks partnered, forming W&B Service Company.  In this same year, W&B was awarded the Transicold dealership, becoming the Nation’s first Transicold dealer.  The early days were spent supporting the Weller family companies and over time W&B began supporting other refrigerated trucking businesses and added locations through the years.

In 1988 John Chisolm joined W&B and purchased the company in 2000.  He expanded locations rapidly moving beyond Texas to Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Under Mr. Chisolm’s leadership, W&B flourished.  W&B Service Company became the Nation’s largest transport refrigeration dealer.  He grew W&B to 17 locations, added 90 mobile service trucks, and more than 200 technicians.

In 2011, Tracey Maynor joined the company as President/COO.  W&B Service Company signed as an Authorized Dealer for Hyundai Translead trailers in March 2012.  In March 2013, Mr. Maynor purchased W&B.  Mr. Maynor continues to build upon the long established sales and service excellence that W&B has established within the trucking industry.
